ANTIDOTE is the UK’s only LGBT targeted drug and alcohol service, offering harm-reduction advice and information, a Soho drop-in space, alternative therapies, one to one support, group-work, outreach, advocacy and referrals to sexual health, mental health and other support agencies as well as detox and rehab.
Our aim to increase awareness, reduce harm and enable individuals to make informed choices in their lives.
London Friend also provides specialised education and training around LGBT specific substance use trends and treatment to healthcare providers and support services.
All our services are free and confidential.
Though drugs and alcohol may be fun and manageable for some; others may find it monopolising their social life, or to be about chaotic sexual encounters, isolation, unmanageable comedowns, the wasting of money, missing work or upsetting family or partners. While statutory services provide excellent focus on Crack and Heroin use, there are LGBT specific drugs and issues that can lead to substance use, such as internalised homophobia/transphobia, HIV stigma, shame around intimacy and more; Antidote provides a range of specific and tailored treatments to address these problems.
Whether you (or someone you know), is wanting to quit, or just thinking of cutting down; or if you'd just like some support or advice about playing more safely, we'd like to help.
